Crown Lanta Review
Ko Lanta; the sleepy Thai island has a little gem on its shore called Crown Lanta. We were only able to stay one night, but had an amazing time. Our room was on a cliff overlooking the ocean and the suite was beautifully decorated. A spacious patio deck with lounge chairs gave us a beautiful view of the Andaman Sea as the waves splashing against the rocks and sand below us were quite peaceful. We didn't stay in our room long upon arrival however, as Chris and I wanted to check out the pool. The Crown Lanta pool near our room was surrounded by stone turtle statues and a wonderfully placed pool bar, which has underwater seats that allow you to order your drinks and keep on swimming. We chilled poolside for a while sipping on Pina Coladas and Daquiris (2 for 1 happy hour), which were excellent size for the prices!

We had a great set of shared appetizers with some new friends to match well with white wine as we laughed about travel stories in the south of Thailand. The food and drink menu at the Crown Lanta's Reggae Bar was extensive as there were a numerous tapas to choose from that were delicious! The service throughout Thailand is above par, however, the staff of Crown Lanta were warming and happy beyond measure, which really played into the country's motto of being the Land of Smiles! Crown Lanta's highlights include multi-colored light covered towers, which you can climb up into to watch the sunset. We stayed post-sunset for a lightning storm that happened to be on a night absent of moonlight. The lightning strikes illuminating the entire sky over a dark ocean, which was absolute astounding.
However, my favorite part by far was the breakfast the next morning, which was served buffet style, with all sorts of different continental and Thai classic selections. Our time was short at Crown Lanta, however we still were able to enjoy its beautifully designed layout, dark-blue tile pool, and wonderful breakfast.
